Burly Blue

Do you like burl figured wood? Me too!! This net is actually for me… Selfish, I know. Just couldn’t resist making another patchwork net, but this time, for myself. The main purpose of this one is to beat the snot out of it to see how long the patchwork lasts. Theoretically, it should last a lifetime (if taken care of, of course!). For most people, the patchwork nets are wall hangers, but I do have a few that plan on using them! Definitely great in pics!

The handle is made of burl black walnut (Oregon grown), and stabilized burl maple with a few pieces lightly dyed blue. The dark strips between each burl maple piece is wenge. The hoop is alternating strips of wenge, and curly maple. A few inclusions needed to be filled on the burl walnut portion, so these were filled with copper. Love this net!
