These two custom fishing nets were commissioned as a gift to a brother and father. Pieces of a fiddleback myrtlewood slab I had were chosen for the handles. This wood, while not the best smelling when sanded, looks amazing after finish is applied.  It will also turn a warm honey brown color as it ages.  The variations in color and figure are astonishing. Both nets have fiddleback myrtlewood, curly maple, and walnut handles. The smaller net has a hoop made from canarywood, wenge, maple, and bubinga. The larger net’s hoop is made of curly maple, sapele, maple, wenge, and bubinga.
